1984 Tour de France
Classy Fignon Comes in 10 Minutes Ahead of Hinault

1988 Paris Roubaix
Dirk DeMol Victorious in the "Hell of the North"
The Paris Roubaix is an infamously brutal classic across the cobbles of northern France. The 1988 edition was no different as relative unknown Dirk DeMol took the win, covering the 266 kilometers of hellish cobbles in 6 hours 34 minutes. On the podium that year was 1984 Tour de France winner Laurent Fignon who carried great early season form having won Milan San Remo earlier in the spring.
